Acceptable Use Policy
The rules for using ShotBG, including AI-generated and AI-transformed images, and how we keep the service safe.

1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) applies to everyone who uses ShotBG and to all content you upload, process, request, generate, or download through the service — including images produced or transformed by our AI features. It supplements our Terms of Service; if there is any conflict about acceptable content, this AUP governs. By using ShotBG you agree to follow this policy.
2. Content Standards & Prohibited Categories
You must not upload, process, request, generate, or distribute content that falls into any of the following categories:
- Sexual or adult content — nudity, sexually explicit, pornographic, or other adult material.
- Violence and gore — graphic violence, gore, mutilation, extreme cruelty, or content that glorifies, incites, or gives instructions for violence, terrorism, or self-harm.
- Child safety — any sexual, exploitative, abusive, or otherwise endangering content involving minors.
- Impersonation and deepfakes — non-consensual intimate imagery, deepfakes, or content that misrepresents a real person's identity or likeness.
- Hate and harassment — hateful, harassing, threatening, bullying, or discriminatory content targeting individuals or protected groups.
- Illegal and dangerous activity — content that promotes illegal goods or acts (such as weapons, drugs, or fraud) or that infringes intellectual property, trademark, or privacy rights.
- Deception — disinformation, scams, or content that misrepresents the source or authenticity of media.
These categories are examples, not an exhaustive list. We may refuse or remove any content we reasonably believe is harmful, unlawful, or abusive.
3. Reporting Violations
If you believe content processed through ShotBG, or another user's conduct, violates this policy, please report it so we can investigate. Include a clear description and any details you have (such as a URL, screenshot, or account information).

Please use the subject line "Abuse report". We review reports promptly, take appropriate action, and may follow up for more information.
4. Content Moderation
We use a combination of automated and human review to enforce this policy:
- Automated screening — every AI background-generation prompt is checked by an automated moderation system (including checks performed through our merchant-of-record's moderation service) before it is processed, and a client-side filter flags disallowed terms. Prompts that violate this policy are blocked.
- Fail-closed — if the moderation system is unavailable, the request is blocked rather than allowed through.
- Human review — we do not proactively monitor every upload, but we review content and accounts that are reported or automatically flagged.
- Enforcement — where a violation is found we may block processing, remove content, issue a warning, and suspend or terminate the account. Where legally required, we may report the matter to the appropriate authorities.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of ShotBG after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
